Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah... My SPM 2014 result was 10As... "Rezeki"... "No pain no gain" I'll tell yaa... In the weeks after the SPM results were out, most of the scholarships are opened within 7 days... so be alert and don't miss the chance! Sooo I applied for the JPA Scholarship ( PROGRAM KHAS KEJURUTERAAN JEPUN, KOREA, PERANCIS, JERMAN) and chose for Germany.
Weeks after that (*I don't really remember when but within March*), the result was out for those who are qualified to attend SAC (Student Assessment Centre). Yea, I was shortlisted too... but before that... I've to do the online test (Ujian Khas Biasiswa Persekutuan). Don't worry too much about the test cause it's only a psychometric test. Oh yeah, it's weird but our attire for this year SAC is plain white T-shirt with collar (long sleeves for female), dark bottom track, sport shoes with socks, tudung (muslimah).
23rd of March 2015, the most fearsome day had arrived... The SAC!!!! Fuhhh quite nervous cause I've got no company... most of them applied for JPA-MARA and MARA because some of them wanted to take medic and some are scare to compete with non bumiputera. Cause you know they are a strong opponent when it comes to ENGLISH. Only 2 of us from MRSM TMFS applied for JPA but She was on the 1st day of morning session and I was in the evening session. Well no worry... I might be able to find new friends soon. I arrived at Intan Sabah earlier than it supposed to (an hour earlier).
We started with a short ice breaking (*yeah quite fun*) after we finished arrange our documents with a total of 18 students (supposed to have 30... *yeah lucky me! less competitors :p*) . Then we have 2 session, English and Bahasa Melayu. I won't call it an interview cause all we do are just group discussion, presentation and Q&A with friends for both session. There's no question about yourself. We were divided into 2 groups consist of 9 people each. There are 2 halls so the 1st group will go to the BM session and the 2nd group to the English session. From the large group of 9 people, it will be divided again into 2 small groups which consist of 5 (1st) and 4 (2nd) people each. So I was in the 1st small groups of 2nd large group (*quite confusing ayy*). My group >>> 1 Kadazan, 2 Chinese, and 2 Malays ( 2 boys, 3 girls).
My large group started with the English session. Each group were given the same topic but different question which is SOCIAL MEDIA.... the question is (our group only) "THREAT TO INDIVIDUAL SECURITY". Elaboration of ideas must based on 4 aspects which is *fundamental issues, *contributing factors, *plan and solving, andddd (*oh no, I forgot! sorry >.<). I was a little bit shocked because it was quite hard for me cause I'm not that super duper good in English but somehow I managed to keep up. During the group discussion, I tried my best to be more talkative and gave as much ideas as I can. I'm really grateful with my team, cause everyone was SUPERB. Each gave brilliant ideas. The 1st small group will present first while the other listen and prepare questions to ask. The teamwork in both groups are great because we helped each other by backing them up if they lost their words and gave chances to everyone.
Now for our BM sessions, we switched place with the 1st large group. Well it's just the same as the English sessions. Now when BM sessions, you should fully use Malay when present. Don't mixed with English. Muahahaha (evil laugh :D), *yeah my turn to shine!* It seems that the Malays have an advantage here. Because those non bumiputera who are just too good with English find it difficult when it comes to BM. Well not all of them actually, there's just some that are good with both language (*yea, they're perfect :'( *). Enough is enough! Now the topic is PELANCONGAN DI MALAYSIA... "sekiranya anda sebagai pemimpin negara pada tahun 20x0, bagaimanakah anda memajukan pelancongan di Malaysia" (not exactly the same from what we saw but I remember that it is like this)... Okay the question is... 1. Berikan dasar yang sesuai..... 2. (*oh my, I'm getting older! I really can't remember*) even though I can't remember the 2nd question, but I'm telling you... It's so damnnn hard >.<
The JPA-MARA's SAC is also like this...
Well that's it....
Here's some tips for the SAC :
Be early on the interview
- Practice makes perfect
- Read as much as you can (current issues)
- Arrive early
- Be active during group discussion! (give as much ideas as you can)
- Give chances to other (if you think that you've talked to much)
- CONFIDENT (but don't overconfident)
- Smile =)
- Well just enjoy yourself.
And yeah Alhamdulillah, I managed to get the offer :)
